Keeping it simple, Ido - on average you would expect a bonus ball to directly repeat (or repeat to any other skip) one in every 49 draws.

It is true that its been a long time since a bonus ball directly repeated, as you say it was four times overdue to happen.

However, overall in 1672 draws the one in 49 means that you would expect there to have been 1672/49 = 34 direct repeats. In fact there have been 37, so its not true to say that it happens too rarely. Being random you get clusters of short periods when it repeats and clusters of very long periods without repeats, but statistically the number of repeats is on target.

As for the other stuff, I won't argue with that as I haven't got the time to run trials. The missing triples will turn up eventually but predicting just when is another story.
