(09-24-2009 04:44 AM)649lotto player Wrote: Hi Ido, Hi 649lotto player, this time my replay is late because I wanted to do the new post before. About your simple statistic view it was clear to me from the begginning . Sadly the statistic is famous to be the less precise one of the group of the precise sciences. ".....As soon as I'll have the time I will change my program and will count the 48 distances availability in the past UK drawings. The availability should fit to the total availability. That means that the distance 1 also should be most available. Therefore a pair of numbers with the distance 1 should appear sooner at the next drawings than a pair of numbers with a larger distance. Because of this I think the chance to predict a pair of numbers with the distance 1 is given more often, but clearly depends of the prediction method......" I confess to be a litle bit disoriented - you are mentioning the past UK drawings -what we whith Mario (because Andreas not post any more??) is related on the bookies Lottery 49's twice daily draw.It's me not to understand thath you are reffering to it too or what you mean is realy related to the UKNatonal Lottery? Because: "....At the moment I play with the skip strategy where I omit the last 3 times 7 drawn numbers, which are mostly 18 numbers. Then I use an optimised open wheel with 31 numbers with some lines (12 or 24 or 36 or 48 lines) with the guarantee 3 if 5 (because one of the omitted 18 numbers will be drawn again) and transpose it to 49 numbers. With this method I should get the highest return with 3 right numbers. But I still have to work out which of the past 18 drawn numbers could be repeatet again, so that I don't omit it......" 1/if you realy play 31 numbers on 49's daily two draws ,this is a playstile I'll never aprove,than I can give you for some time 12 numbers formations for 4 right numbers,ones 5 ,never less than 3 and if you will like it ,I would give to you the method description but there is an effort to do of you as it's based on the disgusting circonfernzial consecutivity 2/if you play National Lottery first visit this my new post: http://www.lottopost.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?tid=540 may happen to give you some new idea+ there is a process I checkked on about 10-12 consecutive UK draws and the result were good - again 12 numbers ,there was fourfold ,one 5+1 but its possible to make solid conclusions only if examine the hole amount of cases and this means a time. I wanted immediatly to write to Frank about it but was skared to be ridiculous and he makes the skip method which I don't comprend. Today I read your firs post of presentation ,if you can write a program maybe you would be able to obtain all the method statistic and if I can have it maybe will have some idea about how to improve or how to do submethods. The steps aren't to complicate ,there is an add/substractional fase +20/-20 in which the damn pair 49-1 is consecutive again but you won't be bodered if I do a table whith the numbers for transposition. What I exactly wanted to bold is that for me playing 31 numbers is too drastyc way of investment. ![]() shoise |

(09-25-2009 05:32 AM)ido Wrote:Hi Ido,(09-24-2009 04:44 AM)649lotto player Wrote: Hi Ido, the statistical research I'm doing is independent of any lottery drawing if the balls are mechanical mixed in a drawing machine, because each drawing is totally randomly and independent from each other. All past drawings are independent from each other and the next drawing is independent from all previous drawings. Instead of watching past drawings of any 649 lottery we could generate our own random numbers and use them as past drawn numbers and use them for the next drawing prediction.. The result for the prediction will be the same in a long time run. If you think the drawing machine and its past results are important for your prediction, you would also to have to implement into your work the not shown test drawings of the machine and this is not possible. It doesn't matter which past drawings are used: daily drawings, saturday drawings, wednesday drawings or saturday plus wednesday drawings mixed. Besause I'm not UK resident, I don't play the UK lotteries. But my postings here will be for the wednesday and saturday UK drawings if I will do any prediction, because the topic here is UK lottery. Is the 49's twice daily draw also done with mechanical drawing machines? I think computer generated numbers cannot be real randomly. The scientists are using very expensive machines to get real random numbers. Their random numbers are generated e.g. by radioactive decay of atoms. By the way, mario is a better program code writer than I am, like he showed in an other discussion group and he is able to write programs in the quick C++ programming language. I'm playing the german wednesday and saturday drawings and they are compareable to the UK ones. About the investment with 31 numbers: A ticket in germany allows 12 plays. I generated 4 sets of numbers with are optimised for 31 pool numbers: 12 lines 24lines 36 lines 48 lines Depending on the money which I have available for playing, I use one of the four wheels and transpose them into 49 numbers, from which then the 18 numbers of the last 3 drawings are omitted. This are my optimised wheels with 31 pool numbers with lowest redundancy and therefore with the best covering within the 13.983.816 lines. The (open) wheels are optimised for a 3 if 5 guarantee because I expect that one of the 18 omitted numbers will be drawn again and I will have mostly only 5 right numbers within my 31 choosen numbers: 12 lines chance 42% to get 1x3 or more right if 5 numbers are within 31 5 7 9 10 21 25 1 3 16 17 24 27 1 8 14 15 23 30 2 12 17 19 20 25 3 4 6 10 12 28 7 11 15 20 26 29 9 13 18 22 23 24 4 8 11 16 22 31 5 11 18 19 28 30 2 14 22 26 27 28 6 13 20 27 30 31 12 14 21 24 29 31 24 lines chance 74,2% to get 1x3 or more right if 5 numbers are within 31 3 4 13 14 20 28 1 5 9 12 26 30 5 6 8 18 27 31 6 9 11 15 17 29 7 17 22 23 26 27 10 18 23 24 29 30 12 15 22 24 25 31 1 2 3 8 17 24 1 4 11 21 23 31 1 7 14 15 18 19 1 13 16 25 27 29 2 4 5 19 22 29 2 6 12 14 16 23 2 7 9 10 13 31 2 11 18 20 25 26 2 15 21 27 28 30 3 10 11 12 19 27 4 8 10 15 16 26 5 7 11 16 24 28 5 10 14 17 21 25 6 13 19 21 24 26 7 8 12 20 21 29 8 9 19 23 25 28 16 17 19 20 30 31 36 lines chance 90,9% to get 1x3 or more right if 5 numbers are within 31 2 4 6 17 24 25 2 9 10 16 29 30 6 11 13 18 22 30 5 6 15 16 27 31 1 2 7 15 19 22 3 12 16 20 22 24 5 8 17 22 26 29 11 16 19 23 25 26 3 13 14 15 25 29 1 3 6 9 21 26 4 15 20 26 28 30 4 9 14 22 23 31 1 8 12 25 30 31 10 21 22 25 27 28 3 7 17 23 27 30 2 3 8 11 28 31 2 12 14 18 26 27 6 7 12 23 28 29 4 7 8 13 16 21 5 7 9 18 20 25 1 14 16 17 18 28 8 10 15 18 23 24 7 10 13 24 26 31 1 4 11 20 27 29 6 8 10 14 19 20 9 11 12 15 17 21 2 5 13 20 21 23 3 4 5 10 18 19 18 19 20 21 29 31 9 12 13 17 19 27 1 5 13 23 24 28 8 9 19 24 27 28 5 14 19 21 24 30 4 5 10 11 12 14 1 10 11 17 20 31 7 11 14 21 24 29 48 lines chance 95,9% to get 1x3 or more right if 5 numbers are within 31 chance 61,5% to get 3x3 or more right if 5 numbers are within 31 4 5 7 23 28 30 3 7 13 19 26 29 7 12 14 22 25 31 1 3 8 11 22 23 3 5 15 16 24 25 1 8 25 27 28 29 6 10 15 19 22 28 10 15 18 23 29 31 16 17 20 22 29 30 7 9 11 15 20 27 8 13 20 24 28 31 6 9 17 23 25 26 4 18 22 24 26 27 3 9 12 17 18 28 2 14 19 23 24 27 4 6 11 12 24 29 2 11 16 26 28 31 3 6 21 27 30 31 12 13 16 21 23 27 7 10 11 17 21 24 1 4 9 16 19 31 5 10 12 20 26 27 11 13 18 19 25 30 2 5 8 9 14 29 4 8 15 21 26 30 11 14 15 21 28 29 1 4 13 14 15 17 5 8 12 17 19 31 2 9 12 13 22 30 3 4 8 10 14 16 1 5 18 19 20 21 1 2 6 7 10 16 6 7 8 9 16 18 14 16 18 20 26 28 5 9 21 22 24 29 2 7 8 12 15 18 1 2 17 21 22 26 5 10 11 13 17 27 1 5 6 13 18 31 1 9 10 14 24 30 4 9 10 13 21 25 1 12 15 24 26 30 2 3 10 18 25 30 12 19 20 21 23 25 3 6 13 14 20 23 2 3 4 17 20 31 2 4 6 11 20 25 6 14 17 19 27 30 (I'm doing the optimising with Covermaster) Because your posting sounds that this topic will be closed and my answer doesn't fit here now for pairs prediction, I will see where to answer later. 649lotto player |

I'm sorry I didn't see this sooner but the maths is obviously wrong here. The probability of finding a pair in one draw is 1 in 78.4 for a 649 lottery and 1 in 56 for a 749 lotto thats about 2%. Over 4 draws the probabllity doesn't improve that much and its about a 7% chance of a match for a specific pair in a 7/49. I'll go into it in more detail when I've time, but you've only to look at past history of pairs to know that you can wait for hundred or more draws for a pair to turn up ! |

Im familiar with using Excel for functions like this, especially the HYPGEOMDIST function, but the way you use it to decide that there is only a 73% chance of a bad result of a named pair doesn't add up. Had you said this:- =HYPGEOMDIST(2,2,7,49) in Excel, for the probability to hit 2 numbers from 2 you would have got 0.017857143 which is your 1 in 56 odds. You then infer from this that the probability of not matching 2 balls is 1- 0.017857143 equals 0.982142857 or 98% ! You can then correctly use the 0.982142857 in the BINOMDIST function to get the probability of a non matching pair in 4 consecutive draws = 0.93046 = 93%. By using different values of the coefficients in the BINOMDIST function one can plot multiple curves for the different possibilities of both NOT matching 2 balls in N draws, and the probabilty of getting one, two or three such matches of pairs over time. ![]() In the above chart, the black curve shows the decreasing chances of NOT matching a pair as the number of tries increases. The 4 tries example is at the left hand side up at 93%. Obviously this curve falls the more tries you have , you are more likely to succeed sometime. Notice that the green curve which is the probability of having just one match in the given time -rises initially to a maximum value after 56 draws (familiar figure ?) and here the curve crosses the black curve where the probability of matching a pair ( once) equals the probability of NOT matching a pair at all in the given number of draws. After this point the prob of matching the pair just once over the time falls because the chance of matching it twice or 3 times increases to replace it. Ominously, the blue curve rising as we increase the number of tries is the probability of ANY success at all - matching the pair once , twice or more only gets to certaintly levels after about 300 draws ! So yes it would be a miracle to do it in just 4. Out of interest, the same curves for 6/49 are shown (ignore the bonus or booster ball) below. ![]() Its essentially the same, but the relevant figure is 78 , I'm sure you know why. In the real world in the UK lotto, this chart below (for consecutive pairs only) illustrates how long you have to wait for pairs in a 6/49 lotto. 30% of pairs (287 of 833) turn up before youve waited 30 draws, 55% (287 +188 of 833) turn up before you've waited 60 draws etc (exactly as per the blue curve above). ![]() It resembles the black curve from above, which is no coincidence as it follows the same law. OK thats enough, I think you get the picture
