Mixing of machines

I noticed on my return from holiday that Camelot have started using Arthur for the Lotto, for the first time since 2003. When the newer machines Garnet, Pearl, Opal etc were introduced, the old machines Lancelot, Arthur, Merlin etc. became Daily Play machines.
I haven't been keeping an eye on Daily Play recently but have just noticed that for at least the past 6 months the Daily play machines are the newer machines we were using for the Lotto, where Garnet Pearl and Opal have hardly been used ! I can oly asuume that while my eye was off Daily play, those three were used more.
So it looks like they have worn out the 'new' set and are now just mixing in the old machines with the new to make them last longer till Branson takes over ?
